A Greeting From Our Pastor.

What to Expect

  • Free parking is available along adjacent streets (Claremont, Oakley, Bell) and along Roscoe Street. We also have a small parking lot available next to the church building (enter via back alley off Claremont or Oakley). Typically, we reserve this parking for visitors and families with young children.

  • Our order of service is specifically designed to reflect upon and draw attention to the gospel. The gospel is the good news that God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue us from our guilt and sin by dying for us on the cross and then rising again from the dead in victory over sin and death.

So in our service, you’ll find that we usually sing 4 songs, which range from hymns, contemporary worship songs, and original music written by our worship director. Amongst the songs we sing, we use written liturgies to prepare for a time of worship, confess our faith, confess our sins, and assure of our forgiveness of these sins. We also spend time praying for our church, community, city, and world, followed by the Lord’s Prayer.

Our sermons usually range from 25–35 minutes in length, followed by communion (communion is not served on days we host a congregational meal), and then a closing song and benediction.

  • When you arrive on a Sunday morning, you’ll find that we have a variety of spaces for your children depending on your child’s and your family's needs.

    1. Nursery—During the entirety of the service, we have a nursery available for children 0–3 years old.

    1. Kid City—Children 4 years old through 3rd grade are invited to join our children’s service. The kids remain upstairs in our main worship service until they are dismissed before the sermon. If you plan on sending your child down to Kid City, please check them in at the Welcome Table when you arrive or during the Family Life portion of our service. You can learn more about Kid City here

    1. Sensory Corner- Our sensory corner is located downstairs in Kid City. This is a space for any child who might need a quiet space to regulate or take a break during the service. It has a comfy seat, fidget toys, noise-canceling headphones, and picture books.

    2. Infant Care Room- This room is available for families with infants who need a quiet space to nurse and care for their babies. This space includes a rocking chair, nursing pillow, and baby bouncer.

    3. God’s Living Room—One of our newest spaces, named by the children in our church, is a small play area in the back of our sanctuary for children who may choose to remain in the service. We believe children are equally a part of our church, meaning they are just as welcome to be a part of our worship service if they choose. Children making noise doesn’t bother us at the North Side. But we also understand that sometimes kids need room to wiggle. This play area in the back includes a mat, soft toys, picture books, and other games and activities.

  • We value spending time together as a church community over meals. Every Sunday morning, we have coffee available starting at 9:30 a.m. Typically, people will also bring pastries or other yummy treats. During warming months, coffee is served outside in the parking lot, and when the weather cools down, you’ll find the coffee located downstairs in our fellowship hall.

If you join us on the first Sunday of the month, we hope you stay after for our congregational meal. These meals are usually catered from local restaurants, so there’s no need to bring anything to share!

  • We typically dress casually at the North Side, so feel free to wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.
